The crushing of 51 tons at the Tramway battery has returned 35 ounces 5 dwts. retorted gold. This parcel has been broke out some time, and has been cleared off to make room for opera 1 ions in the mine, which may be looked forward to as producing a better class of stone, or rather a more careful selection being made for crushing purposes. ; One great desideratum has been achieved; the drive has penetrated into the Otaeo workings, the , men breaking through this day. This will have a beneficial effect, inasmuch as there will now be a current of air, enabling the present manager, Mr T.Dunlop to prosecute his design for the benefit of the company. r
