MR W. K. McLEAN'S MONTHLY HAWKE'S BAY STOCK AND STATION REPORT.
Station Pbopeety.—Very little business has been done in Ibis direction during the past month.' The only transaction I have to report is the ealoof the Tukoekata Block No. 3. situated at Wairoa, containing 2848 acres, to Mes.rs H. and A. Buff, for £1120. There have" been many, enquiries lately for email freeholds of from 200 to 2000 acres, suitable for "agricultural and. pastoral purposes combined, but ■ properties of this description are not easily to he met with at bucli prices as purchasers are inclined to give. There. are several large runs in the market, stocked and unstocked—some of them very eligible investments,, and well worthy the attention of intending purchasers. Sheep.—The market has been very quiet,, and very few transactions have taken place j and we can expect but little business to be done till after shearing. Sales have been entirely confined to fat stock for local conBumption, -with the exception of two shipments for the Auckland market, Fat croisbred wethers, heavy weights, may be quoted at 17s 6d" to 24s j merino ditto, 12s to 14s. Cattie.—-There bis only been one auction sale of any importance during the month, at ■Which; 74 steers and spayed heifers, li years to 3 years, were yarded. Of these, about 50 ■were fat, the rest being fresh stores; an average, of £8:10s wasobtained. Thepresent quotation for prime beef is 30s per lOOlbs. Hobses.—The ÜBual .weekly sales at the "Repository nave nob been well attended latterly, and the entries have shown a falling off, both in,quantity and qualify. However, any really. Boo^d animals meet with a ready sale at fair prices, as was shown by the recent importation, of 7 heavy draught horse» from . Auckland. ::I sold these at prices ranging from £35 to £60, and could have disposed of more at the same rates. Quotations are; Heavy draught, £30, to£so ; medium ditto, £20 to £30 ; light .ditto, £15 to £25 ; good weightcarrying hacls, £15 to £25; light ditto, £5 to £10. r W.K. M'Lean, Stock, Station, and General Commission :; ': ■*•' '■' "Agent, Hastings street. Napier, 2nd August, 1875. .
