WARDEN'S COURT.

THIS DAT. (Before W. Fraser Esq , Warden ) BAIiMEE V. SAWYER AND OTHERS. The plaint stated that the defendants are the registered owners of a certain claim situate at Tairua, and known as the " Pride of the South" claim, and that-, they had neglected continuously, and day by day, to work the ground with the i number of men prescribed by the Goldminina: Districts Acfc of 1873, and there- ' fore the- plaintiff' prayed to be put in i possession of the said claim or some part i thereof. , Mr Brassey appeared for complainant and put in evidence- the -Proclamation of January 2nd and November 30th. 1872 and of April Bth, 1875. Kelley and Keed vrcre present to represent the defendants. _The ground was stated to be ten mens' ground.' Charles Baimcr the owner of a Miners Eight, stated he was the complainant in , this case and claimed to be put in posses- | sion of some part of the ground known as | the Pride of the South claim at Tairua. William Kelly, miner, residing at Tai- j rua, stated that he knew the Pride of the South claim, and that it had never been ' properly manned, only seven men being employed on the claim. Cavendish Eeed stated that he was also a miner residing at Tairua, and had been at work at the Pride of the South claim since the commencemenfcj that it never had been worked by more than seven men though pegged out for ten. The case was adjourned until Saturday morning.. ____________
