A BENEFIT PERFORMENCE.
■ To the Editor.of tho Evening Stair. " Sib,—l was rather surprised to find inyour report'of the Miners' Accident' Relief Fund Committee meeting that the Committee had refused the offer made by the Crickeier's Dramatic .Club, and, can* only account for their-rdoing so by reason of apprehending - that the expenses would devolve upon the Fund. Judging from the previous performances of this-Club, undoubtedly the most superior amateur dramatic company the Thames has possessed since the days of tho - old Garrick Club, I should, say that a large attendanco.'will 1 be 1 attracted on the occasion of the next entertainment given by them-' I would suggest, therefore, as the Relief Fund Committee have declined their offer, that the Club tender their services to the Ladies Benevolent Society, a body which has it in its power to do an incalculable amount of good, and which is therefore deserving of support by/one and all. I feel certain.that an offer of the kind would be welcomed by the ladies who have shown how wide is the range of the usefulness of the position which they have filled with so much credit.
