Waitekauri.
This favorite locality still'maintains its promising character; I hare not heard of any now important finds being made. There are still serious murmers by. the men working on the roads not being paid their wages. In reference .to ihis matter I hare seen some remark* made about the amount of discount charged on the " orders" given to those men when being cashed or traded. I can safely state that persons who cash the largest number of those orders have never charged oven one penny discount for doing so, still I cannot say that others, don't do it;; at'all. events its to be hoped that this state of things will not be allowed to go on anylonger.
