Theee were no transactions in. tlie Shareinarket yesterday. Yestebdly was the last day for lodging objections against granting the Puketui; license, Tairua, applied for by D. S. Macdonell, and the^ only objection lodged was from an aboriginal Native. We don't suppose people want to be told what sort of weather there was to-day. Tt was , cold—very cold; . wet, blowy, and everything disagreeable up till noon, when a slight improvement was noticeable. We don't keep a weather clerk, but we were informed to-day that two inches of rain fell during last night—-• representing a few tons to the acre —and that the glass this.morning was about as low as it had been for a very long time.' We are certainly " paying " tor the long J spell of fine weather, as prophesied by the j croakers.
