Mail advices' show that Sir Charles Cowper's health is rapidly improving. Francis White, M.L.A. for Upper Hunter, died on May 4th. Gold has been struck twelve miles from Parkes in Forbes district^ Half pennyweight to the dish. A rush ha 3 set in. ■ Provision has been made in the Appropriation Bill for building all public schools at the public cost. Probably increased facilities will soon be given for loading sailing colliers at the port of Newcastle. f ; ; ;- / - ;/■ <■;■ \.
