We have received from Messrs Mason Brothers a descriptive catalogue of their hardy ornamental trees, evergreen and flowering shrubs, fruit trees, florists' flowers, &c, as kept in stock by them at their nurseries, Parnell Road and Dedwood, Auckland. The catalogue is most complete, and embraces everything that could bo desired by amateur and pis>-. Sessional gardeners, with prices annexed.'

Up till the publication of yesterday's Gazette there had been issued 5 licenses to sell game and 172 licenses to kill game in the Province of Auckland.

A PiiovTNCiAL Government Gazette, published yesterday, contains a proclamation under the hand of Sir George Grey, exempting from occupation for mining purposes, or for machine sites, or for business, or for residence a piece of land in the Waiotahi Creek containing 2 acres and 1 rood. .Robert Kidd, L.L.D., has been appointed clerk and librarian of tlio Provincial Council of Auckland. A list of game licenses issued is published, and statement of the.,affairs of the Una Goldmining Company.

* At the Resident Magistrate's Court again this morning there was a clean sheet. -It is thought that" this seeming virtue is due to the monopoly of the police force in the service of the education summonses, rather than to an improvement in the moral condition of the places ;

The Prince Alfred, barquentine, proceeded up the river to-day to the" Upper Mill, where she will take in a cargo of timber for Lyttclton. The Prince Alfred discharged the bulk.of hor cargo at Auckland; but she will como direct to the Thames next trip.

In consequence of the Enterprise being laid up for inspection, the steamer Manaia came down this morning in her stead, and will leave on her raturn trip at six o'clock this evening, - '■"" : ■
