WAIOTAHI EDUCATION COMMITTEE.

A meeting of. the members was held last evening in the office of the secretary, Mr Skene. Present: Mr Eowe (Chairman), Mr Brodie and Mr O'Haire.

A letter from the Central Board was read, in which it was stated that the Board had no funds to devote to incidental expenses, such as for sanitary provisions, brooms, &c, &c, and that a local fund should be raised for that purpose. Th« Committee unanimously declined to entertain any such proposition, and considered it manifestly unjust that they (who gave their time and trouble for nothing) should be asked to support such a fund out of their own pockets. The Secretary was instructed to communicate with the Central Board, notifying the resolution arrived at by the Committee. The above was merely the most pressing business, There wore a number of

The meeting then adjourned
