It is understood that the manager intends to open out a new level at a depth of 60 feet below the present This will give command of about 65 feet of backs on the lode, which will be secured by 15 feet of shaft. The contractors for excavating for the foundation for the new battery, commenced operations yesterday. The Company are crushing with 42 head of stampers, but the stuff is looking scarcely so rich as did that from the last.
