WAR DECORATIONS
Presentations By King Curtailed (7.30 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 17. His Majesty, since the outbreak of the war, has personally presented more than 44,000 decorations, states the Press Association. There are still about 55,000 outstanding awards to be conferred. His Majesty cannot present the remaining decorations personally without interfering with State business, but as he regards each award as his own personal gift, he has decided that in future orders decorations and medals shall be dispatched by post accompanied by a personal letter from himself. Onlv such high orders as the Victoria Cross and the George Cross will continue to be presented personally.
