PUNT CAPSIZES
Two Hundred Fat Sheep Drowned (N.Z.P.A.) BLENHEIM, Dec. 18. More than 200 . fat sheep were drowned last night off Clay Point in the Admiralty Bay area, Pelorus Sound, when a punt was overwhelmed by a sudden storm. Without warning an almost cyclonic south-westerly occurred as the punt, which was towed by a launch, arrived off Clay Point, and it sank after shipping heavy seas. The sheep, owned by Mr H. Leov, of Durville Island, were valued at approximately £5OO. They would have been among the first stock sent by rail to Addington since the completion of the South Island Main Trunk.
