SPECIAL FORCE FOR JAPAN
Men Excluded From Leave Scheme (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. The Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones), answering urgent questions ini the House of Representatives to-day, said that owing to Ihe necessity for extensive reorganisation and training I of the force going to .Japan, the men in it, consisting chiefly .of single men of the 13th, 14th and 15th reinforcements who had had short overseas service, had been excluded from the leave scheme. Mr Jones said that some 2000 men of the ninth reinforcements still in the Middle East were due Io embark | on December 12. Mr Jones said that the live days, December 25-26-27 and January 1-2 had been declared si'ecial holidays for all R.N.Z.A.F. personnel. Similar provisions bad been made by the Army. Additional eave would be I granted, but would bn charged against the annual leave ent,it lenient. Those required Io maintain e-.srntial services would gel equivalent leave later.
