Conservative Seat (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) » LONDON. Oct. 31. The by-election at Monmouth caused by the death of Mr L. R. Pym. resulted : —Captain Peter Thor’neycroft (Conservative! 21.092; A L. Oakley (Labour) 18.953. Majority’ 2339. Mr Pym’s majority over Mr Oakley in the General Election was 1652. The City of London by-election resulted Raluh (Conservative) 4506; A S. Cornyns. K.C. (Liberal). 1503. The by-election was caused by the elevation of Lord Broadbridge tc the House of Lords.
