NEW SELLING PRICES (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 1. From to-day the new selling prices for greasy, slipe and scoured wool will become operative for sale to importers in the United Kingdom and other countries by decision of the United Kingdom Wool Control. The Minister of Marketing (the Hon. B. Roberts) says that these prices reflect the change from the wartime special demand for coarser wools for military needs to the increasing demand for finer wools for civilian requirements. Sales of greasy wool will be on an ex-store basis, and a f.o.b. basis will apply for slipe and scoured wool. Buyers of greasy wool ■will pay the ex-store prices plus the normal delivery charges, and local agents in respect of sales to the United Kingdom will arrange payment in sterling in London 14 days from the date of sale. Where transactions are financed by letters of credit, the terms will provide for payment in London on lodgment of the necessary documents at the agency of a bank of New Zealand.

The changed procedure, said Mr Roberts, was in line with the arrangements settled at the london wool conference. The announcement did not affect the sale of the wool by producers for the current season, and that in terms of the announcement already made the purchase of the 1945-46 clip from producers would be made on the same basis as for the 1944-45 season.
