FIGHT FOR PEACE
World Youth Council LONDON, October 29. An audience of more than 6000, with 600 delegates to the World Youth Council, representing 32.000,000 persons from 62 nations, at the Albert Hall pledged themselves to fight as vigorously for peace as they had for war. Part of the pledge was “to build the unity of the young throughout the world of all races, colours and beliefs, to eliminate all traces of Fascism from the earth, to build sincere international friendship among the peoples of the world, to keep a just and lasting peace, and to eliminate want, frustration and enforced idleness.” His Majesty in a message to the Youth Council said: “I am convinced that the true co-operation of the youth of all countries provides the surest guarantee of peace for which we all worked and fought so hard. I send my best wishes.”
