AIRMEN IN PACIFIC
Posting Of Christmas Parcels (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Oct 31 The posting of Christmas parcels to New Zealand airmen in the Pacific was referred to to-day bv the Hon. p Jones who said the R.N.Z.A.F. forces'in the Pacific were being rapidly returned to New Zealand and only rear parties would remain in most areas after the middle of December. To avoid the needless use of air transport the public were earnestly requested to refrain from sending further parcels and second-class mail matter to R.N.Z A F personnel whose addresses were N 7 A.P.O.’s 308, 338. 348, 361, 366 unless’it was known that the addressees were attached to rear parties. The Air Department and Post Office would make every effort to deliver Christmas parcels to rear party personnel and to the R.N.Z.A.F. forces in Fiii, Norfolk Island and New ■ Caledonia, but no guarantee of delivery could be given if oarcels were posted later than the end of November.
