WIDER POWERS
War Pensions Board
(N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON Oct. 4. A short measure of four clauses, the War Pensions Amendment Bill, was introduced in the House of Representatives to-night. In the absence of the Minister in charge of War Pensions (the Hon. F. Jones), a brief explanation of the Bill was given by the Hon. W. Nash. He said the Bill improved the benefits for war veterans and gave the War Pensions Board a little more power. The powers of the Board to terminate pensions are extended by the provision of a clause authorising the Board to do this in the case of a person of notoriously bad character or of one guilty of gross misconduct dishonouring him in the public estimation.
