SHIPPING PORT OF TIMARU

Quiet Day NO COASTAL VESSELS Yesterday was a quiet day for the Port of Timaru. there being no shipping from either north or south ports To-morrow night the Waipiata and the Breeze will berth. The former will load direct for Auckland and the Breeze for Wellington. Early NOTES Set down to leave Bluff to-day, the Waipiata is expected at Timaru tomorrow tc load Auckland consignments. She will sail for Auckland direct in the evening. Shipments for Wellington and Wanganui await the Breeze, which is expected from Lyttelton to-morrow. She will also sail the same day for Wellington direct. From Dunedin and Oamaru. the Wainui is due about Friday to load for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. She will sail for Wellington direct, probably the following day. The Holmburn, from Dunedin on Friday, will lift Wellington c"rgo. proceeding to Wellington direct in the evening. Loading at Auckland, the Karetu is expected to clear about the end of this week, her call of ports being' Wellington, Dunedin, Oamaru and Timaru. Auckland cargo will be loaded by the Karetu at Timaru.

Wool, as well as other general cargo consigned to the United Kingdom, will be taken by the Ilissos, which is set down to leave Port Kembla, N.S.W., about October 13 for Timaru direct. She will be here for a few days before proceeding to Lyttelton. The Kaikorai is scheduled to leave Sydney at the end of the week for Lyttelton and Timaru. Here she will discharge iron and timber as well as other general cargo; she will lift general Australian shipments and proceed to Dunedin and Bluff. The Marie Bakke is now expected to sail from Sydney for Timaru direct early next week. Here she will load a consignment of biscuits for the Middle East. From Timaru she will continue to Wellington and Auckland.
