PICCOLO CASE
APPEAL DISMISSED <N.Z.P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 2. An appeal against le decision of the judicial stewards of the Geraldine Racing Club to reverse the judge’s placings in the Geraldine Cup run on Sent ember 22, was dismissed by the Canterbury District Committee. An order was made that the deposit for annea t lodged by the appellant. K W. Stevens, owner of Piccolo, should be refunded. Piccolo finished three lengths in front of All Night. After hearing evidence of interference by Piccolo with All Night a furlong from the winning post, the stewards reversed the judge’s placings, giving first place to All Night, ridden by C I- Wilson. with Piccolo second Piccolo’s rider (C. Stokes) being sus’'“’uled from riding for two months. No appeal against, his suspension was lodged by Stokes.
