Patton had made a personal report to General Eisenhower on his efforts to de-Nazify Bavaria, says the Associated American Press. Dr. Wilhelm Hosgner, a social democrat. described as a veteran opponent of Nazism, has been named to succeed Schaffer. The statement from General Patton's headquarters said Schaffer’s resignation, which was offered to the military government three weeks ago. has been accepted and a Liberal Regime substituted.
