W. C. Davies Wins A Grade After the rain last week, the Highfield course was slow on Saturday when the Timaru-Glenitl Clubs played a bogey round. Placing on the fairways was enforced except in championship games. W. C. Davies won the senior section with 1 down. His medal score of 76 including four “birdies.” With little or no run on the fairways his was a meritorious performance. W. J. Jones headed the B section with 1 up. This player has returned a number of -good scores this season. ' and at present Is leading in the bogey aggregate. Following were the best cards returned: A grade: W. C. Davies (3) 1 down: D. C. E. Mackay <l6) 5 down: S. Wilkinson (17) 6 down; R. B. Hart (19> 6 down. In the intermediate chamnionshlp H. Coxhead beat A. g. Horwell after a keen match. Coxhead gained a lead of 3 up which he maintained until there were/five holes to play. Horwell squared the match at the eighteenth, but Coxhead wrote finis with a “birdie” 3 at the nineteenth. B. E. Wallace beat D. C. Chalmers and G. J. Kelly beat W. Finn.
