FIGHTING IN JAVA AND SAIGON
No British Obligation (11 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 28. The Minister for War (Mr J. J. Lawsen) denied that the fulfilment of Britain’s obligations to her Allies involved fighting the peoples of Java and Indo-China for the Dutch and French, says Reuter’s Singapore correspondent. Mr Lawson said that the policy in Java and Indo-China was a matter for the Foreign Secretary. His visit to the South-east Asia Command had no political object. He came out to see the troops.
