HOUSES FOR HOMELESS.—One of the houses being built in Cameron Street by the Timaru Borough Council in an endeavour to relieve the serious housing shortage in the Borough. The timber being used was obtained from dismantled Army huts secured from the War Assets Realisation Board. These houses will be let and not sold by the Council, the suggested rental being 15/- a week. The Council has decided to acquire further quantities of timber from huts and to extend its original programme.
