DEATH ANNOUNCED
Sister L. E. Brandon (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 24. The death has occurred after a long illness of Sister Louise Elizabeth Brandon. She was at one time lady editor of the "New Zealand Free Lance” and also of the "New Zealand Times.” Later she took up nursing, and in the Great War served as a sister in Samoa and later on the staff of the hospital ship Maheno. While in England she was matron of the officers’ hospital at Brighton. Upon returning to New Zealand she became matron of the military hospital at Rotorua having given five years’ military service for which she was decorated with the A.R.R.C. She was a daughter of Mr Eustace de B. Brandon, elder son of the Hon. A. de. B. Brandon, and sister of Major P. de. B. Brandon.
