REPRESENTATIVE MATCH Under ideal conditions the representative teams of Ashburton and South Canterbury met on Saturday at the Park, the match resulting in a win for South Canterbury by 14 goals to 1 The game was a better one than the score indicates, and although the visitors were beaten by a large margin, their play at times was good but lacked finish in the circle. South Canterbury made the pace a fast one from the opening whistle and Ihe forwards, led by R. Cowles and E Hawkey, kept up a strong attack and could not be denied coals. while tlvbacks were sure in defence.
