JAPAN MISSED INVASION
Only By Few Weeks (Rec. 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 15. Japan missed invasion by only a few weeks, says the naval correspondent of the “Daily Mail” with the British Pacific Flee . Units which had been bombarding Japan were due to assemble at a secret rendezvous in the Southwest Pacific on August 15, before the preliminary bombardment and to sail for Sydney for overhaul before the final onslaught.
