TYRES WITHOUT A PERMIT
Offence Proves Costly
(N.Z.P.A.) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 13. Five charges of selling motor tyres without a permit and one of supplying a motor tyre were admitted by Baillie, Neville and Company, Ltd., Greymouth, in the Magistrate's Court this morning. John Shaw, a salesman, admitted six charges of aiding the company in th,' commission of the offences. Defendant pleaded guilty, ’’ he company was convicted and fined £lO on each charge. Shaw was fined £lO on each charge Defendants were also ordered to pay £3O police expenses. Ministerial Posts Lapse It is announced from 10 Downing Street that the posts of Ministers resident in the diddle. East and West Africa, created to meet wartime conditions, will now lapse.
