Tekapo Rabbit Board | Mr R. G. Hunter-Westen presided at a meeting of the Tekapo Rabbit Board. Also present were Messrs B. N. Murray D. M. C. Burnett. J. Scott, K. G. Gray. W. McLeod (Inspector), and J. A. Fraser (secretary:. Mr W. G. Hosken’s resignation was accepted with regret, and he was thanked for his valuable services as a member since the formation of the Board in 19.38. Mr R. Hosken was elected to fill the vacancy. Estimates of receipts and expenditure for the year ending March 31. 1946, were considered, and it was agreed | that a rate of Sd a head on sheep i and 21d a head on cattle be struck , and levied at the next meeting of the Board. It was agreed to purchase a supply of I strychnine and rifle and shotgun ! ammunition, this to be made avail- ; able to ratepayers. It was agreed that the house under j offer to the Board at Tekapo be purchased. Frosts Continue The hard frosts continued last week, the hardest beins 27 degrees on rriday morning. On Saturday the recordinc i was 24 decrees. Three to four inches I of frozen snow is lying on the ground, j Football Owing to the playing areas at. Cave. I Alburv and Fairlie being under snow on Saturday no play took place in the I Mackenzie Rugby Sub-Union's competitions.
