Justices’ Association fhc seventeenth annual report oi the South Canterbury Justices’ .Association, I which will be presented at the meeting I on July 31, records the death of two | former members. Messrs J. Barron and H. B. S. Johnstone, and the resignation of Mr W. Buchan. At the end of April there were one life and 92 subscribing i members. The annual statement ol accounts ! shows a sound financial position, the , year ending with a credit of £l5. The | present president. Mr G. H. Andrews. ; the registrar. Mr C. \V. Wood, and I two Councillors. Mrs A. Clark and Mr, W. Anderson, retired by rota’ion. Mr I Anderson is not seeking re-election. > The annual conference wa.> held in ! Auckland, the report slated, but the | Council decided not to send a delegate ! and Mr 1.-. Gee represented the ! South Canterbury Association. At a luncheon gathering held during Um* year a presentation was made io Mr Henry Morgan on his retirement from . the position of Stipendiary Magistrate | for Timaru and at the same time the . opportunity was taken to welcome Mr |G. G. Chisholm, his successor, and to . introduce him to the members.
