HOME AGAIN.— Private A. IV. Harper with, his mother at the Timaru Railway Station yesterday when he returned alter a number of years as a prisoner of war. Well known in athletic circles before he went overseas, Pte. Harper was one of the foundation members of the Timaru Harrier Club and held office as secretary and chib captain besides representing the club in all inter-club races. He was a member of the Timaru team that won the Orr Walker Cup for eight years in succession. A member of the South Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club, lie was secretary of the South Canterbury Sub-Centre and also represented South. Canterbury at Canterbury and Otago championship meetings. Secretary of the Timaru Harrier Management Committee, he was also the coach of the girls' section of the South Canterbury Amateur Athletic Club. Pte.
