Death In London (7.30 p.m.) LONDON, July 19. Edward Knoblock, playwright. died suddenly in London. Born in New York in 1874 and educated at Harvard University. Knoblock began writing plays in 1911, when he completed "The Fawn" and "Kismet.” He dramatised a number of notable novels, including "Mr Prohack” (with Arnold Bennett). "The Good Companions” with J. B. Priestley). "Grand Hotel" (from Vicky Baum's novel) "Hutter's Castle" (from D. J. Cronin's novel) and “Tlie Edwardians” (from the novel by V Sackville West). His film works include “The Three Musketeers" for Douglas Fairbanks "The Thief of Bagdad.” "Red Waggon” (from Eleanor Smith's novel' "Chu Chin Chow” and “Evensong” 'from a novel by Beverley Nichols). Knoblock was the author of several publications, including three novels and a bool: iff verse.
