BELIEVED DROWNED
Former Member Of Maori Battalion (N.Z.P.A. GISBORNE. July 17. Charles Chambers a*’ed 38 a labourer, is believed to have e* ’ drowned on Saturday morning when he was washed down the swollen Awatea River, on the East Coast, while attempting to ford it on horseback.
