Causes.- Air operations 'excluding known air accidents*. 7167; known air accidents. 4420: ground accidents and other causes. 1473; ground battle. 462. deaths from illness, 320. Casualties in Types of Unit. —Operational squadrons. 9010; Empire Air Training Scheme schools. 1120; officers’ training unit and other flying schools. 1744; other units. 1968.
