Women’s Division Mrs G. Ellis presided at the monthly meeting of the Women's Division. Arrangements were made for the birthday party and presentation of Plays in August. Mrs P. Campbell and Miss N. Campbell a-ranged a competition. which was won by Mrs Cantwell. The monthly competition 'premier bloom i was won by Mrs P. Campbell with Mrs Ellis second. Red Cross Sub-Centre At a meeting ot the Red Cross SubCentre Miss E. Rooney presided. Reference was made by the president to the death of Miss A. Hampton and members stood in silence as a mark nf respect. A new member. Mrs H. Wolff, was welcomed. A letter was read by Mrs E. Wolff from her brother on his experiences while a prisoner of war in Germany, and of the deep appreciation the repatriated men felt for the work of the Red Cross. Members ail took garments to sew for the people of Europe. Mrs Ivey was thanked for purchasing and cutting out the material. It was decided that, members canvass the district for clothing and tinned food and that the Sub-Centre purchase blankets. Personal Mrs G. F udemann, Rakaia. is spending a holiday with her mother.
