’ TIMARU BRANCH At the monthly meeting of the Timaru branch of the W.C.T.U. Mrs Cave presided. Mrs Middleton emphasised the duty of the individual to strive for peace and by example and precept to help to bring peace to the world. Several overseas men had made many visits to the Rest and one man expressed the opinion that in 30 years at sea he had not been in such a homely place as the Timaru Sailors’ Rest. It was arranged , to send a parcel to a Timaru sailor. A special appeal was made for magazines and papers as stocks are very low.
