UNSETTLED The following is the forecast for South Canterbury issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, for the period ending 5 p.m. to-day:— General Situation A deep low trough of low pressure, east of the Chathams, is moving over New Zealand. Forecast Winds.—Fresh south-westerlies decreasing and becoming variable. Weather.—A few brief showers at first, then fair; temperatures cold.
