LONDON-SYDNEY AIR SERVICE
Extension To Dominion Required (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 30. When the Hon. W. Nash was asked to comment on a recent cable message from London regarding the LondonSydney Air Service, he said that the New Zealand Government was anxious that this service should be operated through to New Zealand. The question of the development and extension of the service was discussed by the Hon. D. G. Sullivan in London during the course of the Commonwealth air conversations in December last. Mr Nash said he hoped it would be possible to arrange for the operation of this air service to New Zealand, and added that he would make a further statement when the present discussions between the Governments concluded. Mr Nash said that Lancastrian aircraft were the civil modification of .the Lancaster bomber. Their carrying capacity was limited, and they were not entirely economic in operation. They would provide valuable service until such time as more suitable British types of civil aircraft become available for the operation of fast long-range services.
