COMPLETE LOSS
Farm Homestead (N.Z.P.A.) GORE, Jan. 29. Mr T. McMath’s well-known homestead at Riversdale was destroyed by fire at 7 o'clock this morning, the contents also being burnt. The outbreak started at the back and. fanned by a strong wind, swept through the structure to the front in a short period. The building was insured for £l2OO and the furniture for £5OO.
Railway Station Destroyed
(N.Z.P.A.) GREYMOUTH. Jan. 29. Fire early yesterday morning destroyed the railway station at Kotuku and disrupted the railway telephone services. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. It is recalled that an attempt to burn the station was made in October, when the walls were scorched and some bags were found burning inside the building.
