EIFFEL TOWER

(8.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, Oct. 3. The way Americans have been dashing around requisitioned hotels, garages and office buildings in Paris has caused considerable amusement, says the Paris correspondent of the “New York Herald-Tribune." The United States Army authorities have requisitioned the Eiffel Tower, and this, says the correspondent, has topped all their efforts. The French, who have been co-operating with the Americans in taking over buildings, were shocked when some young United States officers tried to requisition the Senate building. An appeal was made to the United States Headquarters, and it was decided to leave the Senate building alor-x.
