Lieutenant-General Slim Knighted
In traditional fashion the King has recognised the signal victorj’ won by the 14th Army by conferring knighthoods on the Army commander, Lieu-tenant-General W. J. Slim, and on all corps commanders. His Majesty makes it clear that the honours conferred are intended to recognise the valour of the meu fi-iiting under the commanders.
