TREAT THE FAMILY TO TREACLE TART Menfolk particularly seem to have a weak spot for Treacle Tart. Treacle Tarts are easy to make and satisfy the sweet tooth without using sugar. Here is a good recipe: Six ounces FetherFlake Pastry, two ounces bread crumbs, rind of one lemon, golden syrup. Line a tin plate with the Fether-Flake and bake till firm. Put in half bread crumbs and the lemon rind.. Cover well with golden syrup, finish with breadcrumbs and bake till pastry is cooked. And don't forget the menfolk's big favourite. Apple Pie, which can also be made with Fether-Flake. Note: It is important with all pastry to allow it to stand for 15 minutes before baking and, of course, to use a hot oven as tor scones.
