U-BOAT SURPRISED
Caught On The Surface (Rec. 7.30 p.m. ) RUGBY, Oct. 2. Sweeping in at zero feet over Langleand Bay. off the coast of Denmark, this evening, Mustangs surprised a U-boat on the surface of the water and raked the conning tower. Blast from cannon shells blew six of the submarine’s crew into the sea. Strikes were seen on the conning tower. An enemy destroyer in Kiel Bay was the next target, strikes being seen on the deck and superstructure. To complete their work, the Mustangs damaged four locomotives inland and blew up a string of goods trains. All the Mustangs returned safely.
