LAWN TENNIS
Amended Boundaries "That the Temuka Town and Country Sub-Association suggest that its southern boundary range west from Washdyke and that the Association be allowed to enter teams in the South Canterbury competition.” This remit was received at a meeting of the management committee of the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association on Tuesday, and it was recommended to the special general meeting, which will be called to discuss it, that the rules of the Association be amended to conform with the remit. The secretary, Mr P. W. Young) reported that 95 dozen pairs of tennis balls had been allocated to the Association for this season. It was decided to make representations to the Borough Council to have Maori Park put in order for the annual championships at the New Year. Mr Armstrong gave a cup for competition for boys under 18 at the New Year tournament. In thanking the donor, the president said that the cup would be known as the Armstrong Challenge Cup.
