TRAVEL RESTRICTED
Coal Shortage In Australia (N.Z.P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. The Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) stated to-day that the Australian Government had advised that there were acute transport conditions owing to the shortage of coal in Australia, and all interstate travel for health reasons had been prohibited. Mr Parry said that persons holding permits for travel to Australia involving- travel beyond Sydney were recommended to postpone their departure from New Zealand unless urgency of business was likely to ensure travel provisions beyond Sydney being made available. In the meantime the issue of exit permits involving travel beyond Sydney would be restricted to returning Australians and businessmen travelling on business of national importance.
