PRESBYTERIAN CLUB On Saturday members of the Presbyterian Harrier Club held their championships from the residence of Mr J. A. Norrie, Otipua Road. The colts ran over their Norrie Cup course while the juniors and seniors ran over the senior Norrie Cup course. At the conclusion of the races Mi - and Mrs Norrie served afternoon tea. Hinks (smin) 15min 42sec 1, H. Hoare (2min 15sec) 17min 30sec 2. METHODIST CLUB The Methodist Harrier Club’s championships were run off on Saturday from tire Woodlands Road Methodist Hall. The seniors and juniors ran together over the 41 mile champlonshio course for the Hurdley Shield. F. Karton was successful in retaining the shield after a good race. The results were: F. Karton 26min 53sec I, M. Lloyd 26min 55sec 2, M. McDonald 28min 7sec 3, D. Darroch 28min 17sec 4. Sealed handicap: M. Lloyd 1, F. Karton 2, M. McDonald 3. The colts’ race of three miles was closely contested for a cup presented by Mr K. A. McDonald. J. Davies was the winner after a close run with C. Thomas and C. McEwlng. The results were: J. Davies 22min "ssec 1, C. Thomas 22min 28sec 2, C. McEwlng 22min 50sec 3, N. McKenzie 22min 51sec 4. Sealed handicap: C. Davies 1, N. McKenzie 2, C. Thomas 3. After the run members were served with afternoon tea by Mr and Mrs F. Metson. An opportunity was taken to welcome Ted Alexander, on furlough from overseas, also to say farewell to Duncan Darroch who is entering the Air Force.
