WHITE MEMBER OF THE SOCIETY OF MINIATURISTS, ROYAL INSTITUTE GALLERIES, LONDON Has Established a Studio in HAY'S BUILDINGS (First Floor) HAY’S BUILDINGS (First Floor) STAFFORD STREET, TIMARU Telephone 1492 An invitation is given to all who are genuinely interested in Art to visit the Studio and inspect the work. Among the exhibits are specimens which have won for the artist distinction in world-famous exhibitions Abroad. Mrs White was also awarded First Diploma at the N.Z. Centennial Exhibition, and has on view a replica of a miniature of the Hon. Celia Monckton, which w’as one of the collection for which the Diploma was won. The original is in the possession of Lady Galway in England. Copies of miniatures executed since the war and given by the artist for the purpose of raising Patriotic Funds are also in the collection. While wishing to stimulate Art in

Timaru, and for that purpose welcoming all Art lovers, Mrs White can only undertake a very limited number of commissions and selects those subjects which her wide experience indicates as being really paintable. highest authorities as equal to the best world standard.” Extract from "Auckland Star”— “Eminent critics as Sir John Lavery, Alfred Praga, Princess Marie Louise and Baron Palmstierna find Mrs Elsie M. White’s work equal to the very best English standards, with added interest of her original technique.
