Don Quex’s Wellington Cup win was too easily achieved to make excuses for beaten candidates valid so far as first place was concerned. Since he was placed third in the New Zealand Cup. this big little gelding has won the Manawatu, Marton and Wellington Cups, and soared to the top of the money-winning list for the season.
