A Sydney message states that yesterday the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser visited the New Zealand war unit rooms and Mrs Fraser was a visitor to the American Red Cross Centre. They dined with Dr. H. V. Evatt, Federal Minister of External Affairs. Cabled advice has been received in Wellington that Mr J. M. A. Hott (Wellington), has been elected one of the five directors for outside World Rotary International. Mr Hott was president of the Wellington Rotary Club, 1929-30, and District Governor for New Zealand and Fiji in 1934. His acceptance of the position will necessitate leaving for the United States in the near future.—Press Assn. The death has occurred of a notable figure In Auckland musical circles, Mr Charles Bernard Plummer, at the age of 74. Up to the time of his death Mr Plummer was president of the Auckland Choral Society and chairman of the Operatic Society. He had taken a prominent part in music in the city for more than 50 years, and was working on a musical history of the Dominion, an enterprise for which he was uniquely qualified. A keen bowler, he was a past president of the Auckland Bowling Club. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
