Casualties Total 528 (11.59 p.m.) SYDNEY Jan. 13. “No Australian ship has been lost by enemy action off the east and south Australian coast since last May,” said the Mil Aster of Shipping (Mr J. A. Beasley). “Since the war began the total casualties among Australian merchant seamen were 528, including 397 killed or missing, presumed dead, 146 prisoners of war and 15 wounded.”
